Planning for January

We're currently planning our next trip which will be around a couple of weeks in January.

Having sampled my first baseball game last time around (Hanshin Tigers - they lost) I'm keen to finally sample sumo, of which I've been a fan for many years. Not sure how I've never seen it live before, but that will be rectified this time around as we've planned the trip to coincide with the opening basho tournament in Tokyo.

The plan then will be to start the trip in Tokyo, then head back home to Kobe. I'm also looking to learn to ski (I figured it would be better to learn in Japan where customer service is God!). After some deliberations as to where to go, we're thinking to keep things simple by going to Mt Rokko (north of Kobe) which also has artificial slopes if there isn't enough snow fall.

We had looked into volunteering with the clean up in the north after the tsunami but logistically we couldn't pull it off - which was a shame.

There's still a lot more to be planned and I'm sure Yuko has more ideas already in place that I just need to catch up with!

Just 1 month to go! Really looking forward to a crisp and sunny Japanese winter. I love it at that time of year.
